You don’t have to have any special educational background to enter this industry. The primary qualification required is an interest in the market. Before you actually enter the industry, you should realize that usually stockbrokers don’t become stockbrokers immediately after graduation. To enter the industry, you have to obtain a license. To get your license, you should locate a brokerage firm. You should be employed with this firm for at least 4 months to take the General Securities Registered Representative Examination. After passing this exam, many states mandate you to also take the Uniform Securities Agents State Law Examination.

Once you get your license, the smart advice for you is to focus first on the industry you are acquainted with. If you have knowledge of construction industry, it is better to begin by analyzing stocks from that industry. It will help you gain a rapid understanding on the market behavior.
